Default Elites in Action

In pve sometimes those elites are hard to come by for the casual player. So here is a list of builds using each elite as the basis for the build... some of them are taken straight from wiki...while others have been based around general pve/pvp. for pvp usage you can make some minor changes to skills to get an effective build...skills like the increased speed and ias skills can be swapped for you preference.... and in certain areas/situations (RA/TA/GVG and some pve) you may want to add a res skill. Here are some things to consider:

**these builds were made with three things in mind:
1. warriors were made to damage (not too many 'tank' builds)
2. GW is a team based game (many of these builds are for a well balanced team)
3. Your a primary warrior for a reason (the majority of skills comes from the warriors skill lists)

**non weapon elites may have flexibility in weapon choice and attack skills...for instance,
[card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] can be substituted for [card]dismember[/card] [card]agonizing chop[/card] [card]executioner's strike[/card] or [card]hammer bash[/card] [card]crushing blow[/card] [card]irresistible blow[/card] (these are the combos I tend to favour but you can usually put any attack skills where you see these)

**Increased attack/running speed skills are largely a matter of preference/situation. for instance while in many forms of pvp frenzy may be a good choice, but i would not recommend it for AB/RA because you depend somewhat on a good healer when using this skill.

**secondary variations will depend on which secondary class you've chosen...usually unlinked skills work the best. here are some popular ones
/m
[card]mending touch[/card]
/n
[card]plague touch[/card]
/a
[card]dash[/card] [card]signet of malice[/card] [card]shadow walk[/card]
/e
[card]shock[/card]

** some require a little investment
/d
[card]signet of pious light[/card] [card]vital boon[/card]

and of course ETC.....

enjoy!

~~~~~NO ATTRIBUTE ELITES~~~~~~~~
Yaa Paladin
[card]"you're all alone!"[/card] [card]enraging charge[/card] [card]flail[/card] [card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] [card]mending touch[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
well rounded condition spammer. Able to fair decently on his own
here is wiki version that includes axe variant and uses /a for gvg use
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:W/A_Lone_Ganksman
Caster's Bane
[card]skull crack[/card] [card]dismember[/card] [card]agonizing chop[/card] [card]executioner's strike[/card] [card]disrupting chop[/card] [card]enraging charge[/card] [card]flail[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
Good against casters. you may want to switch out some skills depending on what area your in.
Lets go Flail a Kiter
[card]"coward!"[/card] [card]bull's strike[/card] [card]crushing blow[/card] [card]staggering blow[/card] [card]heavy blow[/card] [card]frenzy[/card] [card]dash[/card] [card]lion's comfort[/card]
mostly for pvp use...make sure you have a good healer on your team.
~~~~~STRENGTH ELITES~~~~~~~

raging executioner
[card]enraging charge[/card] [card]battle rage[/card] [card]dismember[/card] [card]executioner's strike[/card] [card]penetrating chop[/card] [card]agonizing chop[/card] [card]plague touch[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
BR is a great way to keep spamming high damage adren skills which is very effective in most pve. Use EC to run in initially and the rest of the time make sure BR is up

Bull's charge swordsman
[card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] [card]bull's charge[/card] [card]frenzy[/card] [card]plague touch[/card] [card]healing signet[/card] [card]resurrection signet[/card]
taken from wiki see:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:W...s_Charge_Sword

charged berzerker
[card]charging strike[/card] [card]hammer bash[/card] [card]crushing blow[/card] [card]irresistible blow[/card] [card]flail[/card] [card]signet of strength[/card] [card]healing signet[/card] [card]lion's comfort[/card]
15 hammer
11 tactics
11 strength
use lions in battle and HS between skirmishes for heals... and keep spammin CS

Defiant tank
[card]defy pain[/card] [card]endure pain[/card] [card]dolyak signet[/card] [card]riposte[/card] [card]deadly riposte[/card] [card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
another poopy tank build...again...this is for when you need some cash and have to grind low level areas...or when you are doing the traditional 'tank' tactics...while a nuker nukes...I am open to suggestions on this one

friend of the Dwarves
[card]enraging charge[/card] [card]dwarven battle stance[/card] [card]mokele smash[/card][card]staggering blow[/card] [card]auspicious blow[/card] [card]fierce blow[/card] [card]lion's comfort[/card] [card]rebirth[/card]
apparently dwarves dont like casters no need for tactics in this build.
16 hammer
13 strength

Flourishing slasher
[card]Jaizhenju Strike[/card] [card]pure strike[/card] [card]griffon's sweep[/card] [card]leviathan's sweep[/card] [card]flourish[/card] [card]burst of aggression[/card] [card]rush[/card] [card]resurrection signet[/card]
a skilled swordsman can chain high damage unblockable attacks and do plenty of dps with this build...you can easily use different weapons with this elite..just switch out the sword elites for power attack and such. this is best paired with an axe warrior to get the deep woundage.If you are looking to use another weapon from another class (scythe, spear, daggers) this elite can make that possible...however it is not highly recommended.

Zidane's Legacy
[card]headbutt[/card] [card]plague touch[/card] [card]dismember[/card] [card]agonizing chop[/card] [card]executioner's strike[/card] [card]flail[/card] [card]enraging charge[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
this was posted earlier in this thread...good against casters...but watch your energy...high costs

Magehunter
[card]Magehunter strike[/card] [card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] [card]frenzy[/card] [card]enraging charge[/card] [card]mending touch[/card] [card]resurrection signet[/card]
taken from wiki see:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:W..._Strike_Spiker

Primal strength

[card]primal rage[/card] [card]"find their weakness!"[/card] [card]galrath slash[/card] [card]silverwing slash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] [card]remedy signet[/card] [card]lion's comfort[/card] [card]signet of return[/card]
15 swrd
10 command
11 strength
ya...i know...this one's pretty bad... If you got a better idea then....

Grasping Ntouka
[card]rage of the ntouka[/card] [card]enraging charge[/card] [card]barbarous slice[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] [card]shock[/card] [card]grasping earth[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
another adren. skill spamming elite... try out BoA with this one as well... this one needs work...will update later

Enduring crusher
[card]shock[/card] [card]crushing blow[/card] [card]irresistible blow[/card] [card]power attack[/card] [card]warrior's endurance[/card] [card]"i will survive!"[/card] [card]grasping earth[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
keep the energy costing attacks going with WE... you can easily sub hammer attacks out with the ones you like... and grasping earth for a rez in most pve

~~~~~TACTICS ELITES~~~~~~~~~~~
Charging swordsman
[card]"charge!"[/card] [card]burst of aggression[/card] [card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] [card]shock[/card] [card]soldier's strike[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
build up adren. use skills 1,2,3,4,5, etc... for a decent spike...
victorious beast master
[card]"victory is mine!"[/card] [card]dismember[/card] [card]axe rake[/card] [card]axe twist[/card] [card]poisonous bite[/card] [card]comfort animal[/card] [card]charm animal[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
16 axe
11 tactics
8 beast
pretty self explanitory. For pve use... the pets attacks make up for no ias and you get a cheap poison. but no increased speed
auspicious fencer
[card]auspicious parry[/card] [card]riposte[/card] [card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] [card]flail[/card] [card]dash[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
defensive build effective against melee areas in pve and also AB
16 swrd
13 tactics
ye old melee farmer
[card]gladiator's defense[/card] [card]deadly riposte[/card] [card]riposte[/card] [card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]mending touch[/card] [card]dolyak signet[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
ONLY repeat ONLY for farming melee solo...only when you need to grind for extra cash...dont take this elite to most pve and especially not pvp
Bully
[card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] [card]shove[/card] [card]enraging charge[/card] [card]flail[/card] [card]mending touch[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
use shove after final thrust and before enraging charge for best synergy
Watchful soldier
[card]"watch yourself!"[/card] [card]soldier's stance[/card] [card]enraging charge[/card] [card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] [card]shock[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
defenitely a team player... keep WYS up as much as possible and you will have no problem with IAS
Steady War
[card]steady stance[/card] [card]desperation blow[/card] [card]drunken blow[/card] [card]"watch yourself!"[/card] [card]bull's strike[/card] [card]"fear me!"[/card] [card]healing signet[/card] [card]resurrection signet[/card]
W/D
14 tactics
13 axe/sword/hammer or 12 scythe maybe a good chioce if you want an excuse to use a scythe. if you dont mind the lose in defense and attack speed.... this build as an axe war actually works pretty well
taken from wiki in pvp builds
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:W/any_Steady_Warrior
~~~~~AXE ELITES~~~~~~~~~~~

Zealous Decapitator
[card]enraging charge[/card] [card]burst of aggression[/card] [card]decapitate[/card] [card]furious axe[/card] [card]counterattack[/card] [card]zealous renewal[/card] [card]vital boon[/card] [card]signet of pious light[/card]
a variation from wiki:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:W...us_Decapitater
also consider /mo and bath's aura for e management... weapon swapping is your friend with this one
15 axe
11 str
10earth

Behold the Mighty Shock Axe
[card]shock[/card] [card]frenzy[/card] [card]eviscerate[/card] [card]agonizing chop[/card] [card]executioner's strike[/card] [card]enraging charge[/card] [card]healing signet[/card] [card]resurrection signet[/card]
spike em down with shock.>frenzy>evisc>exec....
Hard to improve on such a tried and true build...minor changes will make it effective for pve use. I would not take frenzy unless you trust your monk btw. (or unless you are a pretty decent warrior) there are many variations to this build... but most are minor ias/irs changes... bull's strike is commonly taken on pvp builds
see also:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:W/E_Shock_Axe

Cleaver
[card]enraging charge[/card] [card]flail[/card] [card]cleave[/card] [card]dismember[/card] [card]agonizing chop[/card] [card]"for great justice!"[/card] [card]plague touch[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
if you are not going for the eviscerate spike damage...and you want consistant dps...this is the way to go...especially effective in pve areas...with FGJ up you can spam cleave every other hit!

Triple The stupidity
[card]triple chop[/card] [card]cyclone axe[/card] [card]dismember[/card] [card]conjure flame[/card] [card]flame djinn's haste[/card] [card]dolyak signet[/card] [card]lion's comfort[/card] [card]resurrection signet[/card]
ok..this build is also a bit noobish... but I have used this to run into a pve mob (with my casters well out of range) and throw down DS then try to do some aoe damage with the above skills...after a second the casters get there and finish the job... try it on koss!
15 axe
11 str
10 fire

Whirling Utility
[card]whirling axe[/card] [card]dismember[/card] [card]disrupting chop[/card] [card]burst of aggression[/card] [card]dash[/card] [card]wild blow[/card] [card]expunge enchantments[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
this build is ideal for getting past those pesky ranger stances or those stacked enchantments of the dervishes... with the low recharge of your elite you can stilll pump out the damage even after the "lose adren skills"

~~~~~SWORD ELITES~~~~~~~~
Crippling swordsman
[card]crippling slash[/card] [card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] [card]frenzy[/card] [card]sprint[/card] [card]healing signet[/card] [card]resurrection signet[/card]
taken from wiki see:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:W...ng_Slash_Sword
you can switch out sprint for enraging charge if you prefer...this build is mostly for gvg.. but can be used in other forms of pvp
Slashing Dragon
[card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]sun and moon slash[/card] [card]dragon slash[/card] [card]enraging charge[/card] [card]flail[/card] [card]mending touch[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
(pve variation) taken from wiki see:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:W/any_Dragon_Sword
probably the most popular of sword elites. allows you to keep spamming adrenaline skills after the first build up...rush is a good sub for EC, and frenzy can replace flail. I would definitely take wiki's version for gvg..its a goodie.
100 burning blades
[card]hundred blades[/card] [card]sun and moon slash[/card] [card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]conjure flame[/card] [card]flame djinn's haste[/card] [card]healing signet[/card] [card]resurrection signet[/card]
there are many variations to this build...the point is to do spike damage with conjure>HB>FDH...there is of course a high energy req on this build however. and you may want to sub conjure for mark of rodgort for degen and FDH for a non energy skill.
15 swrds
10fire
11tactics
The Quiverer
[card]enraging charge[/card] [card]flail[/card] [card]quivering blade[/card] [card]sever artery[/card] [card]gash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] [card]plague touch[/card] [card]healing signet[/card]
variation taken from wiki:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:W/N_The_Quiverer
Plague sig. removes the downside from QB, making it an excellent dps build (with a daze perk as well)
~~~~~~HAMMER ELITES~~~~~~

Back breaker Titan
[card]backbreaker[/card] [card]crushing blow[/card] [card]aftershock[/card] [card]staggering blow[/card] [card]auspicious blow[/card] [card]grasping earth[/card] [card]healing signet[/card] [card]resurrection signet[/card]

earth shaker titan

somwhat of another 'tank' build... you need to have a good monk on your team

enraged judge
[card]enraged smash[/card] [card]hammer bash[/card] [card]crushing blow[/card] [card]"for great justice!"[/card] [card]flail[/card] [card]enraging charge[/card] [card]"watch yourself!"[/card] [card]lion's comfort[/card]
you will usually have at least a couple adrenaline skills charged giving you that extra punch with ES

I would like to tweak each one of these and if you have a better build for that elite...post it and I will update the OP.

If this is not finished dont worry. I will have it done by Wednesday

I applaud your effort Clawofcrimson.

However, I think you should stop. Your thread makes it seem like these are the "best" build for the "casual" player. This would deter others from truly experimenting with the elites and finding new and interesting combinations. You said they can tweak these build that have been tested, but many of these players will most likely keep as is, since they are tested.

This could be placed in the build thread.

umm, some of it hasnt come up right, great guide though^^
Good Job!

But I also agree with Pick Me if you are just bumming around, in PvE or PvP just throw some likely skills together test it out, if your happy gom with it.

well I am bored at work and my guildies always ask how to use their elites...so ill keep going and see what happens... I think I have given (so far) enough room for variations.

I also like the challenge of coming up with builds using the not so popular elites... so consider this a buffet compliments of Claw

its a nice idea to show how to use ever elite, but most of those builds are complete shit for non AB play. there is only 1 with a rez.

no i am trying to do this between work tasks so be patient and the rest will come.

@coloneh you should read the entire post. of course you will need to adjust for different types of play. adding a rez is not a problem in most builds... I am trying for the most well rounded for pvp/pve ...so feel free to take from the buffet what you need and leave the rest. I personally feel the only place for a rez is RA/TA/GVG... with the introduction of heroes I have not seen a huge need for a rez in most pve

yeah lots of these builds need help... but hopefully it will set some mending wammos in the right direction.

keep in mind that many of these builds have pvp in mind while others are clearly for pve. you can make simple changes to switch uses.

I dont think it really deserves a stick, but I would like to hear any critiques/ changes from others. some were hard to come up with good builds

primal rage...sigh

try this one for backbreaker

[skill]Backbreaker[/skill] [skill]Holy Strike[/skill] [skill]Stonesoul Strike[/skill] [skill]Hammer Bash[/skill] [skill]Crushing Blow[/skill] [skill]flail[/skill] [skill]Enraging Charge[/skill] [skill]Resurrection signet[/skill]

Hammer mastery - 16
Smiting - 12
Strength - the rest

It has no self heal but you can fit one in if you have trouble with it.

It works well in High-end PvE

~A Leprechaun~

P.S. the ViM build is awesome, just tried it in the Eternal Grove mission and i could go and solo the groups of rangers and turtles outside the base with ease. Gj.

nice to know some of these actaully work... :P I definitely need to rethink a few...

I think primal rage has to be the worst warrior elite in the game

[card]primal rage[/card] [card]"find their weakness!"[/card] [card]galrath slash[/card] [card]silverwing slash[/card] [card]final thrust[/card] [card]remedy signet[/card] [card]lion's comfort[/card] [card]signet of return[/card] ????????? maybe?

I've been fooling around with Zergway (aka Steady War) in PvP and I must say the flexibility is astounding.

For your build I would kill Soldier Strike and replace it with a specific skill per to your weapon:

Sword: [skill]Riposte[/skill]
So much adrenaline being generated, might as well grief some BoA sins or wars in the process.

Axe: [skill]Bull's Strike[/skill]
This one I am kinda skeptical about. Axe has no skills that are astounding by itself, so I put in Bull Strike for when you got kiters annoying ya.

Hammer: [skill]Hammer Bash[/skill]
Sure you may lose all adrenaline, but you're gonna get it right back. Disruption ftw.

I agree... I will change it to bulls strike for now....do you think it would work well with a scythe?

hammer damage at 16 mastery 21.83-40.2

scythe damage at 12 mastery 6-41

you would be substituting the interupts and higher range of damage fo the swathe effect
